eBerry is the digital development company within Strawberry (previously known as Nordic Choice Hotels), one of the leading hotel chains in the Nordics and Baltics, with over 200 hotels. eBerry works to create a seamless guest experience by integrating technology in various ways, such as offering a digital check-in and check-out process, mobile keys, and smart rooms.

Since spring 2022, eBerry has been working with SALT. Mathias Althin is the VP of Technology and responsible for recruitment at eBerry. So far, he has brought in three developers from SALT, one in Java and two in Javascript.

Mathias explains that one of the reasons he hires SALT is for diversity. They work under the motto: Room for All, which influences guest service and staff diversity. The developers that eBerry has taken in from SALT are originally from Mexico, the Netherlands, and Sweden.

"Diversity can be enriching in so many ways. The team has a special dynamic when you have perspectives from people with different backgrounds. Of course, there can be challenges, but when you make it work, magic happens," says Mathias Althin.

All SALT developers have experience in coding, and many have previously worked in IT in some capacity. However, almost none of them have worked as professional full-stack developers before. Nevertheless, Mathias says that the developers from SALT who work at eBerry have become productive after just a few weeks.

"They stand out from the crowd because they quickly get into the teams and have a driving force that positively affects the rest of the group. They dare to speak up, speak in front of the group, and actually raise their hands and say when they don't understand something. I'm extremely impressed with SALT's ability to attract so many driven and fast-learning individuals," explains Mathias.

eBerry and Strawberrys goal is to have the highest guest satisfaction rating in the travel sector and always be at the forefront of innovative features. This is something that SALT hopes to continue contributing to.
